Prior to joining Lorena Falasco Elementary, Mr. Hicks served as an Assistant Principal for Robert T. Elliott Alternative Education Center (9-12) and Mark Twain Junior High School (7-8) with Modesto City Schools. While there, he concurrently served as the President of the Stanislaus County Charter of the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) of Region: 7. Mr. Hicks has also served as a moderate – severe Special Education teacher (9-12) with Kerman Unified School District. While there, he simultaneously fulfilled the roles of Special Education Department Chair, Intern Support Provider, Advancement via Individual Determination (AVID-9) elective Teacher, and Military Leadership Instructor (California Cadets).
Making his home in Los Banos, Mr. Hicks was born in Baltimore, Maryland and raised in Annapolis, Maryland. He has been in the education profession for 9-years. He is a retired United States Air Force Master Sergeant with 23-years of service (12-years Active Duty, 5-years Air National Guard, and 6-years Air Force Reserves) He is also a former San Jose City police officer. He is a member of the Los Banos American Legion and Los Banos Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
Mr. Hicks earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland, a M.S. in Criminal Justice from Florida Metropolitan University, a M.Ed. in Special Education from National University, and his Ed.S. Degree in Organizational Leadership (K-12) Education from Grand Canyon University, AZ.
